BRIEF ITINERARY
Sunday 4 April: Depart Box Hill at 9am, drive via the Seymour Vietnam Vets Wall. At Elmore, arrive in time to enjoy a relaxed lunch. After lunch, continue on to visit the Rochester Sports Museum, where local sporting history comes to life through fascinating displays. In the afternoon, travel on to Echuca, arriving with time to settle in and check-in at the Pevensey Motor Lodge.
Monday 5 April: Visit the riverside town of Deniliquin, beginning with a guided town tour highlighting its historic streetscapes and Murray River heritage. Continue to the Peppin Heritage Centre, where the story of Australia’s fine-wool industry comes to life, followed by a visit to the Deniliquin Historical Society to explore fascinating local artefacts and stories.
Tuesday 6 April: Enjoy a full day in Echuca, starting with a town tour showcasing its rich riverboat heritage. Cruise along the Murray River aboard a historic Paddlesteamer before exploring the iconic Port of Echuca precinct. The day concludes with a visit to the Great Aussie Beer Shed, offering a light-hearted and uniquely Australian experience.
Wednesday 7 April: Travel to Bendigo and visit the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion, standing 48 metres above Bendigo’s distinctive bushland. See an introductory video, stroll through the gardens and enter the Great Stupa itself where you will be amazed & inspired by the vision, statues including the Jade
Buddha, and collection of artefacts. At Maldon there is time for lunch before driving the final stage of the tour via Castlemaine, arriving at Box Hill mid to late afternoon.
