Volunteer Opportunities

U3A Box Hill is a wholly volunteer-run organisation, relying totally on its members for its successful operations.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, here are some of the ways you can get involved:

Reception Desk Volunteer

Reception Desk Volunteers are the first point of contact for our members and the public when visiting U3A Box Hill at the Strabane Hall office. These volunteers respond to inquiries at the Reception Desk and over the phone. If you enjoy meeting people and have good administrative skills, this might be the perfect role for you. Most Reception Desk Volunteers work one half-day shift per month during the term. For more information, please email info@u3aboxhill.com.au

Class Leader or Tutor

We are always looking for new and interesting ideas for classes, most of which are held weekly during school terms. If you have a skill or special interest you would like to share with others, please email the Course Administrator at info@u3aboxhill.com.au.

Committee of Management

U3A Box Hill’s Committee of Management (CoM) oversees all aspects of our operation. It meets monthly, and members take on specific roles such as Office Manager, Membership & Course Administration Manager, IT Support, AV Support, Publicity Manager, Facilities Manager, and the elected roles of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Other volunteer roles

We are always in need of passionate individuals to join our team. Currently, there are opportunities in:

  • Digital Presence & Engagement: Editing, blogging, moderating, and social media management.
  • System Administration: Maintaining and improving our IT infrastructure.
  • Constituent Relations Management: Enhancing our interactions and relationships with members.
